Teaching Together Across Thousands of Miles—In the Cloud! IFREECOMM Empowers Guangdong’s Northeast “Three Classrooms” Initiative

Recently, IFREECOMM partnered with Meizhou Mobile to support five schools across Guangdong and Hunan provinces in the “1+1+3: Gathering in the Cloud, Growing Through Research & Reflection” initiative. By pioneering a hybrid online-offline teaching-research model, this effort brings teachers and students from five schools together virtually—enabling equitable sharing of high-quality educational resources across counties, districts, and cities, and advancing education fairness and balanced development.

1+1+3: A Model Application of the “Three Classrooms” Initiative

This cross-provincial interactive demonstration lesson involved Guangdong Provincial Model School Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School, Provincial Model School Candidate Dabu Primary School, and three partner schools: Zhoujiang Central Primary School (Wuhua County), Tangxi Central Primary School (Fengshun County), and Changsha Central Primary School. Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School served as the lead teaching site, while the other four schools participated as remote listening sites. The entire session was live-streamed on the “Meizhou K–12 Innovative Education Platform.”

As a flagship application of the “Three Classrooms” initiative, this demonstration lesson employed 1+1+3 audio-video interaction and synchronized teaching materials to enable cross-school, cross-regional instruction. The lead teacher delivered engaging content and interacted dynamically with both in-person and remote students—using images, videos, and interactive games to ignite student enthusiasm.

In the lead classroom, Ms. Ye Mei from Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School clearly and smoothly viewed real-time classroom feeds from all four remote schools via her display screen—and conducted two rounds of interactive Q&A and games with students across those schools. The atmosphere was lively, and learning outcomes were strong.

To ensure seamless execution of this demonstration lesson, IFREECOMM and Meizhou Mobile rapidly deployed and calibrated high-definition interactive recording & broadcasting all-in-one units, PTZ cameras, audio processing equipment, and interactive display screens—providing robust technical support for smooth, lag-free, premium-quality video interaction.

Mutual Benefits for Teachers and Students

Since April last year, Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School has been designated a Provincial Demonstration School for School-Based Teacher Development—one of only 14 selected by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. As planned, the school hosts regular cross-regional online professional development sessions each semester to actively support under-resourced rural schools. In this demonstration lesson, both local and remote participants gained significantly—and new pathways emerged for promoting balanced urban-rural education:

For Ms. Ye Mei, English teacher of Grade 3 Class 1 at Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School: “Using this multi-format, scenario-based teaching approach helps students better grasp vocabulary meanings and practical usage.”

Ms. Zheng, English teacher at Zhoujiang Central Primary School (Wuhua County), said: “By observing online, I experienced firsthand how teachers at Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School deliver lessons—and will use these valuable insights to refine and improve my own teaching methods.”

Chen Weiyi, a Grade 3 student at Tangxi Central Primary School (Fengshun County), added enthusiastically: “Learning lessons from Meizhou Normal School Affiliated Primary School right here in my own classroom feels fresh and fun—not only did I gain new knowledge, but I also discovered new ways to learn!”

Professor Zhong Zhirong of Educational Technology at Jiaying University commented: “This represents a groundbreaking exploration of an integrated ‘online + offline’ and ‘county-to-county’ teaching-learning-research model—and a successful practice of ‘Internet Plus Innovation Literacy Education’ in online teaching and research observation.”

Powered by IFREECOMM’s ultra-immersive video conferencing technology, the “Three Classrooms” initiative has already been widely implemented across regions including Luku County (Jiangxi), the Sixth Division and Altay Prefecture (Xinjiang), Guizhou, Hunan, and Henan provinces. This latest deployment in Northeast Guangdong delivers the same proven impact—accelerating local education informatization and providing powerful technological impetus for high-quality, balanced urban-rural education.
