The attending physician at the patient’s local facility transmits electronic medical records, basic clinical data, and diagnostic imaging—including X-rays, CT scans, ECGs, and pathology slides—via the regional healthcare alliance’s HIS and PACS systems directly to each expert’s workstation.

 

Experts review the shared data collaboratively; when needed, they may request the attending physician to perform real-time examinations on-site while experts observe the procedure and results live—enabling accurate, consensus-based diagnoses.

 

Surgical Teaching: Elevating Grassroots Clinical Capabilities

 

Operating rooms are equipped with teaching terminals that capture and digitize video feeds from surgical field cameras, panoramic cameras, endoscopes, microscopes, and patient monitors. These signals are encoded and streamed over the network to dedicated teaching rooms and remote classrooms. Instructors deliver live commentary using real-time surgical visuals and contextual data, while remote participants view synchronized multi-angle feeds—and interact directly with instructors for clarification.

The system supports large-scale, multi-level cascaded meetings across regions and departments—meeting diverse hospital collaboration needs. Meeting templates (e.g., weekly briefings, routine reviews) can be pre-configured in the cloud platform, which automatically allocates resources, initiates sessions on schedule, and dials into all participating endpoints—streamlining operations and improving user experience.

 

Additionally, the system features open, standards-based APIs and architecture—enabling flexible integration with third-party platforms and seamless compatibility with mainstream conferencing hardware, eliminating redundant investment and infrastructure waste.
